Owner of Bobby Bell Floors in Louisville Kentucky. CTI #1542, NTCA member.
I was born into the construction industry. My father was a general contractor. When I was a kid my dad would ocasionally repair broken stained glass windows in his shop for churches and residential clients. I was fascinated with the whole process. In 1997 I went to work for Sam Kinnards Flooring installing hardwood floors. While at SKF I learned the tile trade. I started doing tiled entryways and very small bathroom floors. Shortly after that I went completely out on my own focused on wood and tile. After working for many years with local home builders and designers, my only focus was on tile. I completed several Homearama homes. In 2006 my tilework was recognized as best in show, first place! In 2019 I attended the gauged porcelain panel training where I met Mark Heinlein and Scott Carothers for the first time. It was a great class and afterwards while talking to Scott, he encouraged me to take the CTI exam. I took that exam a few months later and became CTI #1542. I decided to be involved in the NTCA, and it was a great decision. Ater learning about the ART program, I really wanted to be a part of it. I always felt that my fascination with stained glass was no accident. I always felt like a stained glass windows and mosaics are very much the same, with just a few different techniques. Needless to say, I am becoming more and more drawn toward mosaics at this point in my life.
Today, my work consists of many bath remodels. I have incorportated the lessons learned over the years at the trainings in my work. i belive this has taken my work to the next level.
